Lantern festival (horse)

Being 'year of the horse' there was no shortage of horse lantern sculptures at the Nantou festival. The biggest horse (above) and main attraction, burst into action by revolving and changing colour every half-hour albeit briefly. The horse was impressive during the performance but having completed a few turns the lights went out and it remained dully lit and passive until the next show. Another horse ridden by a knight (below) was smaller and static but I felt it was more impressive possibly because it was permanently lit and well executed. However near the main horse there was also a stage where music and dance acts performed so it would probably have been too much with a giant horse joining in too.

My videos were crap, but here is a link to a reasonable video of the Horse. Video link
