Lantern festival I

Tonight I do get to see the Nantou lantern festival after all and it really was an incredible spectacle.

Coloured lights and lanterns as far as the eye could see.

The centre piece was a giant horse (top right) as befits the year of the horse but there were lanterns in all shapes and sizes representing well known characters, symbols and themes.

The Taiwan lantern festival was in Nantou this year but will be elsewhere next year.
