Moon Festival 中秋節

Mooncake

Mooncakes are traditionally eaten during this festival which celebrates the end of harvest. These small sweet pastry cakes have a rich filling that usually comprises of duck egg yolk with bean paste or ground mixed nuts, among other ingredients. The filling is similar to marzipan and they are usually eaten in small slices with green tea.

Meanwhile some good news: Typhoon Usagi seems to be veering south which will allow most Taiwanese to have their traditional barbecue over the weekend.
